The Museum shows the many developments of the 20th century in a large number of permanent displays, but also has ever-changing exhibitions in three rooms. So there is always something new to discover. On this site, you will find the most up-to-date offer of activities and exhibitions.
Zuiderzeemuseum
At the Zuiderzee Museum, you can see, hear, feel, taste and smell daily life around the Zuiderzee. Walk back in time along the cobbled streets of the Outdoor Museum and discover the historic buildings. The Zuiderzee Museum is a fun and educational outing for young and old!

- From Horn cycling along the Markermeer – 39.5 km
- Hoorn, Avenhorn and Wognum – 33.7 km
- Hoorn, zuidermeer and Wognum – 27.5 km
- In the surroundings there are also beautiful biking tours, such as:
- The Land of Leeghwater (Purmerend – Alkmaar)
- Wormer, West-graftdijk and Purmerend Forts love (Purmerend)
- The curve Seemed-route – 40 km (Horn – Wervershoof)
- De Koog-route-29 km
Hikers
Also for the hikers, there are plenty of opportunities in and around Hoorn.

- Kogge route Hoorn – 19 km
- Avenhorn > Horn – 13 km
The city Hoorn houses a rich history which is still evidently visible in city.
From beautiful facades to cosy courtyards, weapon stones, city gates, Admiralty buildings of the Dutch East India Company, the Dutch West India Company and the Norwegian company.
