Westfries Museum

The Westfries Museum has been housed since 1881 in the former Statencollege: a national monument dating from 1632 in the heart of the historic port city of Hoorn. Together, the collection and the building tell the story of the cultural history of Hoorn and West Friesland, with an emphasis on the most exciting period in that history: the 17th century.

The Westfries Museum is closed until mid-2027 for extensive restoration and renovation. However, we will continue to tell the story of Hoorn and West Friesland's history online and in the city. Visit the website for current activities.
